Hi, I'm Grigory. I've lived in Uruguay since 2023 — I came alone, with no community waiting and no ready-made plan, and did every step myself: found housing, opened a bank account, registered as a sole proprietor, and got my residency.
At the same time I enrolled in a master's program at UDELAR — through the regular admissions track, alongside local students, not some separate program for foreigners. In three and a half years I learned Spanish well enough to study and talk with Uruguayans without any allowances for an accent.
Back then I didn't have anyone to honestly explain how things work here. Now our Telegram group has 2,400 members, and helping people move has become my job. Working alongside me are Uruguayan lawyers, a certified translator, and a real estate agent — so every question gets answered by whoever knows it best.
